Homestay Options During the Dog Trainer Certification Course

In-House Accommodation for ABA students

Dogue Academy students come from all over the country or abroad and often require a homestay option. Consequently, I offer an in-house accommodation option for students who require a place to live during their studies to becomes a certified dog trainer. The student can choose to stay for the entire length of the program or select certain days to reduce travel time. A second homestay option is also available a few houses away. We can discuss your needs during our interview.

The bedroom is small, but it has a fully functional bathroom, and all the amenities you will need during your stay. The house is located in Montreal's Notre-Dame-de-Grace (NDG) borough. The number 51 bus passes on the corner of Fielding and Cavendish, a few steps away, with direct access to the famous Plateau borough, Jeanne Mance Park, and the Mont-Royal mountain. The closest green space with a dog park is Confederation Park, five corner streets away. The park includes an outside pool, sport rink (summer basketball - winter hockey rink), and running track. The recreation centre is half a kilometre away by foot. There, you will find the indoors pool, library, and other community services.

NDG's Monkland Street is home to a many good restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and little boutiques. Further south, you will discover Sherbrooke Street West; the busiest boulevard in the borough. Public transport is fairly decent, but walking is faster. There are only a few bicycle paths in NDG and most are bumpy and unsafe, in my opinion.

The room is dog-friendly; however, it must be quiet and completely house trained. The room is accessible from the back garden and has its own private entrance. The two resident dogs might not appreciate the ruckus. If you choose to stay with us, make sure to bring your dog's veterinary file. Should you have a veterinarian emergency, there is a clinic nearby.

Finally, No need for a car or bus pass, everything is a short walk away. Downtown Montreal and the access to the underground city or Old Montreal, are approximately 30 minutes away, depending on how fast you pace yourself.
