Basic Dog Trainer Summer Program Details
What You’ll Learn During This Program
Over the two week course, the training is divided among several modules. Each module includes hands-on training with your dog or an appointed dog for the duration of the program.

| Behaviour Modification | • Identifying unwanted behaviour and their root causes • Systematic desensitization and counterconditioning • Free shaping and capturing |
| Tools of the Trade | • Collars, harnesses, leashes, head halters, clickers, target sticks • Use, fit, safety, ethical considerations • Training setups: indoor/outdoor, distractions, environmental structuring |
| Basic Obedience Training | • Sit, down, stand, stay, recall, walking on a loose leash • Polite greetings, impulse control, leave-it/drop-it exercises • Using markers (clicker or verbal) and understanding cues and prompts |
| Husbandry (Dog Care) | • Veterinary exam, nail trimming, dental care, hygiene, grooming • Daily care routines, safety, travel, and handling |
