Dog Trainer, Behaviour Consultant, or Pet Therapy
COVID-19 has certainly changed the way we do things like shop, interact, and learn; therefore, the Dogue Academy needs to adapt to better serve our students. Our in-person programs will still run as normal; however, the class structure will depend on sanitary and safety measures required by the government; as a result, we are planning for the worst-case scenario.
Consequently, we will offer our well-known Animal Behaviour Apprenticeship (ABA 1&2) and Animal-Assisted Therapy programs (AAT) as online programs. The dog training, animal behaviour consultant, and animal-assisted therapy programs are structured and will be dispensed in the same manner as our regular in-person classes using the free Google Classroom* and Google Meet apps.
This means the schedule, content, homework, and exam schedules will occur as if students were physically present. Classes will be live via Google Meet and students will receive the same quality training as if we were face-to-face. The Dogue Academy will continue to adapt to our new and forever changing environment; therefore, we have adapted the ABA and AAT programs to satisfy our functional hands-on requirements and highly educational curriculum.
Our classes will be limited to four and six students, which is our normal class size, in order to facilitate learning, evaluations, and practical assignments. Here is what to expect from online platforms.
- Our regular theoretical content
- Hands-on training on G-Meet
- Class discussions on course topics
- Required class attendance
- Required in-person attendance**
- Submit and pass:
- Training exercises
- Online quizzes
- Online exams
All assignments, quizzes, and exams will need to be completed and submitted on due dates. The passing grade will remain the same as our in-person classes. We believe the online program to be more difficult to graduate because of environmental distraction and procrastination; that said, we expect our students to be responsible for their educational requirements and be proactive in their learning.
We do not know what will happen in the future; hopefully, we will be able to resume our regular in-person classes. We will update this page as events occur.
*We will provide you with the information required to log into class once registered.
**When government safety requirements allow it.
